I studied at Edinburgh College of Art for my BA Honours Degree in Illustration & Graphic Design. Sadly the City Art Centre wasn't booked for our degree show so we had to make do with a makeshift gallery at Burtons on Princes Street- not the best!

To compensate for this disappointment I took a stand at a Freelance Trade Fair in London. I went all the way to the Big Smoke and met two lovely representatives from DC Thomson, Dundee!

From that meeting I went on to work for a number of their magazines doing short story and feature illustrations for Jackie and Blue Jeans, a cartoon strip for Catch and latterly cartoons for an Embarrassing Moments feature in Shout Magazine.

Other freelance work has come from Collins Books, Pearson Educational Publishers, the RSPB, Dumfries & Galloway Council, design studios and private commissions. More recently, a project for Dumfries Museum has taken my work in a new, slightly slanty, direction. My drawing of the museum was nicknamed ‘The Funky Windmill', referring to its previous use, and was the start of a new phase and style to my work- examples of which you can see in the gallery!
